Telstra required a software-based solution to manage its day-to-day fault reporting
process. When a fault occurs, a field staff sends an SMS to a central mobile phone
number which is intercepted and recorded by a central computer system. The staff
located in the office then accesses the details of the fault from their PC, works
on a resolution and sends progress-status to different groups.
It was imperative that the system handled large volume of transactions on a daily
basis. Also, due to the mission-critical nature of the system the up-time had to

meets hundreds of potential customers on a daily basis and provides borrowing consultancy
and quotes. The business requires its sales representatives to be able to carry
a laptop computer to the meeting places and run a variety of calculator applications
such as a loan repayment calculator, a bridging loan calculator, and others. IT
Magnet delivered solutions for the following business requirements:
Web-based access to the system so the applications can be accessed from

The web-based application pages must refresh instantly,

Document Management System
The Sydney Traffic Services department of the RTA creates a large number of engineering
drawings for road signage and installation. Being such a large organisation, and
the designers being located in various locations, it became necessary to install
centralised document management software. IT Magnet developed a fully tailored software
package that saved the designers a significant amount of time in searching for drawings,
browsing, reviewing and even reusing existing drawings. The software also keeps
track of changes made to each drawing and saves each change as a new version of
the drawing file. Using sophisticated techniques, the software penetrates the market-leading
CAD drawing software, changing its normal behaviour and protecting the user from
making unwanted mistakes. For example, after making changes to an existing file,
a user may accidentally overwrite the existing file instead of saving the changes
as a new file, as intended.

Database on National and International Educational Demographic
The Committee of Deans of Australian Medical Schools (CDAMS) was conducting a 12-month
project to design and initiate a national database that would collect reliable demographic
and educational data on medical students at all 15 Australian and several international
medical schools. It was intended that the database would provide an efficient and
cost-effective mechanism for evaluating undergraduate and graduate entry medical
education, as well as the short and long-term outcomes of medical education programs,
particularly rural health programs. Using web-based technology IT Magnet provided
a complete solution making the system accessible to the students, data collectors
at every school, central administrators and B2B partners. The solution was based
on Microsoft SQL database, MS .Net platform, web-based technologies and 8 layers
of security.
